1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Breadcrumbs, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Breadcrumbs is a personal voice and note recording application designed to help you capture thoughts, memories, and important messages. Features include:

Voice recording and playback
Text note creation
Photo attachments
Timeline organization
Vault for important entries
Optional cloud backup
AI-powered assistant

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the app for lawful purposes only
Not use the app to store or share illegal content
Keep your account credentials secure
Be responsible for all content you create and store

4. Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you create in Breadcrumbs. We do not claim ownership of your recordings, notes, or photos. You are solely responsible for your content and its accuracy.

5. AI Features

AI features in Breadcrumbs use your own OpenAI API key (BYOK model):

You provide your own OpenAI API key to enable AI features
AI features include the Assistant, voice transcription, and voice conversations
Usage costs are billed directly to your OpenAI account
You can remove your API key at any time from Settings

6. Cloud Backup Service

If you enable cloud backup:

Your data is stored on secure servers
You can disconnect and delete cloud data at any time
We are not responsible for data loss due to service interruptions
You should maintain local backups of important data

7. Disclaimers

Not Medical or Legal Advice: Breadcrumbs is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. The app and AI Assistant do not provide diagnoses, legal counsel, or professional recommendations.

No Guarantees: We provide the app "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Breadcrumbs and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using Breadcrumbs at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
